History of some liberation war vehicles.

The liberation war is our pride. And the vehicles that trampled the battlefield are now enclosed in museum glass walls or thick chains. The cars that played an important role in conquering our country need to be carefully preserved as they carry the mark of our heritage. Have you ever thought about our liberation war car? These cars have also played an important role in dealing with our country’s opponents.

Kaiser Willis Jeep Wagner

General Osmani used this car during the war of liberation. He got this car courtesy of Jessore Education Board. The vehicle was also used to carry ammunition during the war. Apart from this, various places were also inspected in this car.

This huge blue jeep could seat 5/6 people at a time. The car was about 1/4 ton. The vehicle number was Jessore B-146.

The car is now kept in the Bangladesh Military Museum.

Mercedes Benz in the liberation war

The vehicle was used by the GOC of Pakistan Army Division 14. The vehicle was recovered from the Pak army after the war of independence. Later this car was used by the former army chief, Lt. Ziaur Rahman.

This black looking car was made in Germany. The number of this car with 4000 cc and 4 cylinders was 0000005.

The car is currently kept in the Bangladesh Military Museum.

Mercedes Benz

Red Jeep

The red jeep was allotted to the then sub-divisional deputy commissioner. In 1971, Mr. Akbar Ali Khan was in charge of the subdivision. He handed over the keys of the treasure to the local leaders during the war. From there, the freedom fighters took the car with the keys and weapons for their own use. This jeep was used to bring food to the freedom fighters. Besides, it was also used to bring arms, ammunition etc.

This car is preserved as a memorial to the freedom fighters. Many people have expressed their desire to save this car. The condition of the car is almost dilapidated. It is proposed to pay some money for the maintenance of the car.

The car is now parked on the second floor of the deputy commissioner’s office.

Diamond T.

This truck was made in the United States. The car was used to bring food during the war. After the war in 1971, the vehicle was recovered from the Pak army. The car number was 186990.

Jeep ambulance

This Jeep ambulance was made in the United States during World War II. The vehicle was originally used to quickly evacuate wounded soldiers from the battlefield. This jeep was also used in 1971 in different units in Bangladesh. The model of this ambulance jeep is OCJ-4.

Such ambulances were used during the liberation war.

Chevrolet Deluxe

The forest department of Chittagong used this car then. Famous people have also traveled to this car. Ayub Khan used the car when he visited East Bengal. After Bangladesh became independent, Father of the Nation Sheikh Mujibur Rahman and former President Ziaur Rahman traveled in this car. The number plate of the liberation war car Chevrolet Deluxe is KA-2133.

Tank PT76

Tank PT is made in Russia. The vehicle was recovered from the Pak army after the 1971 war. The main feature of the car is that this tank can run on water.

Track cargo

Track cargo made in the United States. This car was usually used for war purposes. Various vehicles and equipment of the battlefield were attached to this vehicle such as weapons, radios, etc. The vehicle was recovered from the Pak army after the war of independence. The model of this car is the van model M109.

Oldsmobile

Before the war, the Oldsmobile was used in the US embassy. Then a Hindu businessman from Faridpur bought the car. When the war broke out, the Pak army started looking for him as a Hindu, but when they did not find him, they shot him in his car. The marks of those bullets still remain in the car.

The United States built this devastating car after World War II. The vehicle was recovered from the Pak army after the 1971 war.

Medium vehicles

This car is also made in the United States. This car is very powerful. With this vehicle, heavy vehicles can be easily removed and transported from one place to another. This vehicle has the ability to remove about 5.08 objects from the battlefield. This vehicle was rescued by the freedom fighters from the Pak army after the 1971 war.

Until 1986, this vehicle was used by the Bangladesh Army.

The liberation war of 1971 is a matter of pride for the Bengalis, and it is everyone’s responsibility to preserve everything used in this liberation war. And these vehicles that participated in the liberation war carry many memories of our liberation war. Some of the vehicles of the liberation war may have been preserved but most of the vehicles are almost ruined due to lack of preservation. If everyone tries to save these cars through government or private initiative, then maybe our future generations will see and know something.
